Augur v1.12.0

Added

  • VisiblePlatformSecurity The web app serves https with a certificate the service makes itself, with nothing to install or manage. The new web.tlsAuto setting chooses when. At the default, auto, the service uses its certificate whenever web.host is a network address, on uses it on 127.0.0.1 too, and off never makes one. The service keeps the certificate for this computer’s names and addresses in its data folder and makes a new one before it expires or when a name is missing. Each browser warns about it once, and augur web and the service log show its SHA-256 fingerprint to compare with the warning. web.tlsCert and web.tlsKey take precedence when both are set; see docs/web.md.
  • VisibleProviders A reset ledger began recording early resets, when a provider resets a usage window before the time it reported. Codex weekly limits have done this repeatedly. Each reset, and each change in reset credits with no reset, goes on one line of resets.jsonl in the app’s settings folder, which keeps growing so a pattern can show over weeks and holds no keys or tokens. usage.json gains a short reset_pattern note for each provider with resets on record.
  • VisibleProviders augur resets shows the reset ledger, with a summary for each provider and meter and a table of recent events. --provider and --limit narrow it, --json prints the service’s JSON, and with fewer than 10 resets the summary says the sample is too small to show a pattern. The web service has the same data at /api/resets, and the read-only augur_resets MCP tool returns it to agents.
  • VisibleAlerts A new idle alert says when a provider that Augur spends in full has gone unused. It fires when every weekly limit of that provider has stayed under alerts.idlePct (5% by default) for alerts.idleHours (6 hours by default), repeats at most once a day, and goes to the bell and Claude Code unless you change the grid. Both settings appear under Alerts in Settings.

Changed

  • VisiblePlatformSecurity A service that listens on a network address now serves the web app over https. Old http:// links and bookmarks stop working, so run augur web for the new links, and each browser warns once about the self-signed certificate. Set web.tlsAuto to off to keep plain http. The plain-http warning in augur web and the service log now appears only in that case.
  • VisibleProviders The balance report notes early resets beside a provider’s headroom. A provider with early resets in the ledger gets a sentence such as “2 early resets recorded.” after its headroom line.

Fixed

  • VisibleSecurityProviders Redirects to another origin no longer carry the provider key. The service’s HTTP helper, which handles provider reads and the Cogitator gateway, resent the original headers and body on every redirect hop, so a provider or proxy that redirected to a different host received the key in the Authorization header. When a redirect changes the scheme, host, or port, only the Accept and Content-Type headers are kept and the body is dropped. A 303, or a 301 or 302 on a non-GET request, is now followed as a GET. Redirects still go only to https or home-network addresses.
