Neo Angband: Quality of Life v1.6.0
Added
- VisibleAccessibility The repeated-action shortcuts card now offers a “Don’t show this again” checkbox. Checking it before closing the card stops it from opening again on later characters; the trigger-key binding itself is left untouched either way (#198).
Changed
- InternalAccessibility The title/birth boot-phase tracker used to track gameplay zoom activation now listens through the game’s own input door instead of a raw
windowkeydown listener, so a keystroke owned by an open mod panel’s own field can no longer be misread as a title-screen command (#151).
Removed
- VisibleAccessibility Repeated-action shortcuts no longer offers cardinal run bindings. A run is already one key (
.plus a direction in the original keyset, one shifted direction key in roguelike), so a bound shortcut saved nothing. Only the conditional-rest shortcut remains (#151).
Fixed
-
VisibleAccessibility The repeated-action shortcuts setup card no longer covers the screen, and no longer leaves the game zoomed in tight after it closes. It is now a small non-modal card in the corner, the same shape as the first-encounter alert card, so it can be left open or dismissed without blocking a click or keypress meant for the game underneath (#151).
-
VisibleUI The status sidebar’s vitals rows no longer stretch apart to fill the window height. They now pack at the top, matching the original game’s layout (#196).
-
VisibleUI The status sidebar, and every other card this mod draws (first-encounter alerts, the activation-shortcut helper, the map hover card, and the repeated-action shortcuts card), now render their text with the exact same bitmap terminal glyphs the game’s own display uses, right-align numbers, and show the original blank-line grouping between the sidebar’s vitals, stat and combat blocks. They previously fell back to a system font that only resembled the game’s own and still read as visibly different from the surrounding display, and the sidebar lost its number padding and blank separator rows to CSS whitespace collapsing (#197).
-
VisibleUI A mod-drawn card’s own text no longer clips its last character by a pixel on some display scales. Each character’s position is now rounded in the same whole-device-pixel space the game’s own display uses, so adjacent glyphs always tile edge to edge regardless of the screen’s pixel ratio (#199).
-
VisibleModding-API Most Quality of Life settings now correctly prompt a reload when toggled mid-run instead of silently doing nothing. This covers remembering settings and cheats, forgiving pref-file parsing, map hover cards, first-encounter alerts, zoom/pan and sharpened tiles, and all five accessibility toggles (neostryder/neo-angband#186).
